| Kagoshima is a major city almost as south as you can get on Kyushu. Across the bay from Kagoshima is the vulcano Sakurajima sitting on a peninsula sticking out in the bay. This is a very active vulcano, and depending on the wind, the ash it spews up may land in Kagoshima. Or so the guide book says. When I was there, I did not notice any sign of eruption. | ||
