A very nice arrangement in the Okayama-Kurashiki areas is the Kibi Plain Bicycle Ride. There are two local train stations in the area where you can rent a bicycle for the modest amount of 1000 yen and then you return it on the other station 15 km away. The bicycle ride takes you through the countryside, and while you never are far from big roads and villages, it is a very nice experience. To make it more interesting, the route takes you past a couple of temples and shrines. On the picture, you see part of the bicycle path.
