Below Maidan there is a shopping mall. There is nothing special about it, but it looks like a shopping mall in any town in any country. But I included this photo to give a complete picture of Maidan. No, I don't know if the mall was open during the protests.

The coffee place to the left is called Кофе Хаус, and this is a chain which is all over Kiev. I knew that кофе means coffee, but I failed to understand хаус and thus pronounce it correctly. My Ukrainian friends informed that it is direct transcription of house. To Russian.
