Institutska Street leads up from Maidan to the area where many of the government buildings are located. Presumably many of the casualties in the week before Yanukovych left the scene fell here, or else would those figures signify? There are also lots of memory plaques for the deceased on the wall below the clock. (Which was not functional on my visit.)
