Snap! Scene change. Instead of gentle high mountains, not so gentle high buildings. Charlotte's Uptown (it's called uptown, not downtown) is a fairly small area in comparison with Seattle downtown. With the sudden concentration of high-rise buildings in a small area, it's difficult to escape the feeling of being in some funny theme park. This is from my hotel room on the day of arrival.
