It was mid-October and the colours of the leaves had started changing. (I can't keep from thinking that these trees are somewhat weak. The mornings in Asheville had been a bit chilly, below 10°C, but mid-day it was still around 20°C. If Swedish trees were to behave like this, we would have autumn colours by end of August, but we don't.)
