The biggest attraction in Asheville is the Biltmore Estate, built for George Washington Vanderbilt in the end of the 19th century and the biggest private home in North America. The house is still owned by the Vanderbilts, but it is open for public visits as is the vast lands around it. Visiting the Biltmore Estate easily takes a full day.
