The Otago Peninsula hosts the only mainland site where royal albatross breed. They only started doing this about hundred years ago, and they get quite some help from the keepers. You can view them from the Royal Albatross Centre. This albatross is nursing its chick, waiting for its partner to come back with food for the kid.
