11. The Gulbenkian Museum

I visited the Gulbekanian Museum and saw the Founders Collection. Calouste Gulbenkian was an Armenian born in Istanbul who acquired a large collection of art, both from the western and eastern worlds. He offered his collection to several countries, and Portugal took the bid.

The collection includes a wide range of items, and I saw very find porcelain from medival Iran, paintings of old European masters. Since museums normally do not permit photos, I left my big camera in the cloak room. I kept the small camera and sneaked picutre of these fine pieces of furniture.
