No, this is not a leftover picture from my vacation in Italy had have ended up in the wrong bin. This is from the shopping mall Venus Fort in Palette Town out on Odaiba. The whole place is designed to look like a Mediterranean city with blue skies and all. What can I say? It just leaves me speechless. I've seen all these beautiful Japanese gardens, these elegant bento boxes, all these amazing modern architecture. But sometimes the Japanese go for the tasteless and vulgar. Can you imagine that anyone would build a shopping mall in Europe that looks like it was in the Far East?
