Hakone is an area some 50 km south of Tokyo with mountains, lakes and hot springs and its a popular weekend destination for Tokyo dwellers. You can get around Hakone with a combination of train, cable cars, ropeways and excursion boats. On the way to Tokyo from Nagoya, I passed through the area, somewhat in haste. This is a view from the mountain train that covers part of the area.
