This used to be the Industrial Promotion Hall in Hiroshima, but from 08:15, August 6 1945, it no longer is. That was when the first atomic bomb detonated almost right above it and many buildings below were razed entirely. The Promotion Hall was in reinforced concreted, and therefore it was not smashed completely to the ground. Today it stands as a memorial as for what happened then, and consciously maintained to remain that shape.
