Kurashiki is a city on a fifteen minute train-ride from Okayama. To a great extent it's a modern city, similar to other Japanese cities. But there is Bikan, a kind of old-town area, with some older houses. Not that they that terribly ancient – there is a clearly a European trait on several of the houses.
