I went to Oslo to speak at SQL Saturday, and I took an extra day to see the town. You may think that since Oslo is close by from where I live, I go there ever so often, but it was only my second visit to Oslo ever. And, boy, had things changed! No, I don't remember anything of my first visit, because I was only five years old the first time. But I could still tell, because a lot buildings were simply newer. This is Karl Johan, which is the most fashionable street in town. The first part leading up from the railway station is a pedestrian shopping street. At this point it starts to be lined by museums and parks, leading eventually to the royal castle. |
