From Carcassonne I continued to Toulouse where I checked into my hotel, but I was soon on the train again to do a day trip to Auch, a small regional capital 70 km from Toulouse. The train ride went through a lush and hilly landscape, a pleasant sight, but I did not take any photos from the train. Auch is famous for its cathedral which sits imposing on a hilltop above the river together with the old town.
