Eventually I arrived in Saint-Jean-Pied-de-Port, and in difference to Toulouse and Bayonne the view was familiar to me. It was a wonderful return. Not the least this beautiful morning as the fog was breaking up. Nive runs right through the centre of this small town and offers many beautiful scenes.

The town is in the Basque lands, and in Basque the name is Donibane Garazi. However, I'm consistently using the French name on these pages. (And I'm usually abbreviating it to Saint-Jean, despite that I went to another Saint-Jean as my next destination.)
