1. Entrance Arles

Arles is a mid-sized city (pop. 53000) about 100 km west of Marseilles. It's an ancient city with a centre full of narrow and irregular alleys, and the city boasts plenty of monuments from Roman times. I stayed for three days in Arles. Not because the town itself is so fantastic, but there are several interesting places close by, and not the least if you want to do some walking.

This is the scene you see if you enter the old town from the north gate. I don't know anything about the painting on house in middle, but it is impressing.
