I took the lift down from the Eiffel Tower, crossed the Seine, and started to
follow the road that goes along the river, and caught the tower between the
trees. Dinner time was approaching, but along this road there were not any
restaurants. I left the river road after some time. I passed one restaurant
where the cook came out running with his cell phone high in hand. I skipped that
one, went up a flight of steps, and came to a bigger crossing. Still no abundance of
restaurants, but I saw a sign 20 metres away on one of the streets. I went
there, and it was a great place. Unfortunately, I don't recall the exact name,
but it was a little funny, somewhat un-French. Very nice family-like atmosphere
with just the right level of elegance. Nice decoration, with the odd element of
the ice-cream box draped in a British flag. The food was very good too! I must
go there again next time I'm in Paris. The street is Avenue Pierre 1er de Serbie,
just a few blocks south of Arc de Triomphe.
