There was of kind of festival devoted to the Bayonne ham going on. Around the festival tents there were plenty of people and it was quite lively. I don't really know how it had been earlier in the day, but when I arrived, it had the distinct character of binge drinking, and things rather got worse later in the evening. I guess that as a Swede, I should be used to this, but it was nevertheless surprising – and disheartening to see this kind of behaviour in the Mediterranean area.
