33. Dallas Street Scene

Eventually we came to Dallas downtown, where was somewhat more lively that in Grapevine. Somewhat, that is, but not overly much. I was suprised how quiet it was for a city of this size. So, OK, with 38° in the shade, and the sun burning, I can understand that there were not very many people walking the streets. But the air-conditioned passways underground were equally quiet, and the amount of cars was modest. It was a Sunday feeling to it, but it was Tuesday afternoon. (But, OK; we had to wait to get a seat at the Mexican restaurant where we went for lunch. Where they by the way did not have sparkling water on bottle. Civilisation is a bit thin in Texas.)
