It is the same esplanade, still as seen from the Grande Arche, but with more zoom, and this time the Arc de Triomphe is clearly visible. This is part of the "grand axe" or the "axe historique", a line that starts in the Louvre, the former royal palace, goes through the obelisque at Place de la Concorde, along Champs-Élysées, through the Arc de Triomphe and continues to Grande Arche (which is twisted 7° in relation to the axis, to make it visible from the Louvre). |
