A common excercise when visiting a city is to get to the top of a high building, for instance a church tower, to take in the views over the city. This was a little problematic. The first church tower was undergoing renovation works. Porte Cailhau was just closed. And the next church tower you had to sign up for a time slot. But finally I was able to take in the views from Cité du Vin, more about this plcae in a few pictures.
