At the end of October, I went to Seattle for the MVP and PASS Summit and I also went to Portland to attend their SQL Saturday. While it is possible to get to Portland directly after the arrival from SeaTac, the margins are slim, and this time I did not even try, but stopped the first night in Tacoma. While I was there, I waited until noon before I took the train to Portland, so I could take a quick look at the city which I found Tacoma quite dull. This is the former Union Station building. It no longer serves as a railway station, but it is an administrative building. The main hall is however open to the public.
