On Chiloé there are a number of wooden churches that have been declared UNESCO World Heritage, and for very good reason. These churches are built entirerly in wood. On the outside, they are often painted in bright colours, and the decoration on the inside is very different from the stone elephants you can see in the Old World. I did not visit all of them, but ot those I saw, this will have to be my favourite.
